Good Life Portraits respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are

What we collect
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and postal address.
- Session information — due dates, your children’s names and ages, family details you share with us when planning a session, and your styling preferences.
- Photographs — the portraits we take of you and your family.
- Purchase information — what you have ordered, invoices and payment records. We do not store your full card number; card details are handled directly by our payment provider.
- Website information — pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, collected through cookies and similar technology.
Photographs of you and your children
Portraits are personal, so we treat them carefully.
- We keep your images so you can order artwork and reorder later.
- We will never use a photograph of you or your children in advertising, on social media, or on this website without your permission.
- Permission for marketing use is given separately in your studio contract, and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. If you withdraw it, we will stop using those images going forward and remove them from our own channels where we are able to.
- Photographs of children are only ever taken and used with the consent of a parent or guardian.

- To send you offers and studio news, where you have asked to hear from us
- To run and improve our website and advertising
- To meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations
Marketing and how to stop it
If you have given us your details we may send you occasional emails or text messages about sessions, offers and studio news. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to a text message, or by contacting us directly. We will still need to contact you about bookings and orders you have placed.
Cookies and advertising
Our website uses cookies to keep it working properly and to understand how it is used.
We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) so we can show our advertising to people who have visited our site, and to measure whether that advertising works. This means Meta may receive information that you visited our website. You can manage this through your Facebook ad preferences and your browser’s cookie settings.
We also load fonts and security tools (reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from spam) from Google. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we need to run the studio:
- GoHighLevel — our booking system, client records and messaging
- Stripe — payment processing for online purchases
- myStratus — our studio management and order records
- Meta and Google — advertising and website tools, as described above
- WhatsApp Business — where you choose to message us that way
- Our printing and framing laboratories — to produce your artwork
- Our accountant, and any authority we are legally required to disclose to
Some of these providers store information overseas, including in the United States.
Payments
When you pay online, your card details go directly to our payment provider over a secure connection. Good Life Portraits never sees or stores your full card number.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact and order records for as long as you are a client and afterwards for as long as we are required to for tax and legal purposes. We keep your photographs so you can order again in future. If you would like your images or records removed, contact us and we will talk you through what we can do.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secured accounts, restricted staff access and an encrypted connection on our website. No system is completely secure, but if a data breach ever occurred that was likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- give you a copy of it
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- stop sending you marketing
- delete information we no longer need to keep
Just contact us and we will help. We do not charge for this.
If you are unhappy
Please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update it here and change the date at the top.
